Director review concept · international patient pathway
International insurance & private payment

Clearer hospital access, whatever your payment route.

Tell us whether you have travel insurance. The authorised teams can use any details you know to help prepare the admission process.

01

If insurance approval is received

The hospital normally requests a guarantee of payment directly from the insurer. If approved promptly, the patient will usually not need to pay the covered amount upfront.

02

If approval is delayed

A temporary deposit may sometimes be requested. Any refund is then handled under the hospital’s process once cover is confirmed.

03

If you are self-paying

You can still attend privately. The hospital can explain consultation charges and the cost of additional tests or treatment.

What to have ready

Useful—but never required to start.

  • Insurer or assistance-company name
  • Policy number or assistance reference
  • Patient’s full name and nationality
  • A short description of the medical problem

If you do not have the insurance details to hand, leave those fields blank. The urgent-care team should not be delayed by searching for paperwork.
